The Astrology of March 2023

As we enter the month of March, we are greeted with a sense of renewal and rebirth. The winter season is slowly coming to an end, and spring is just around the corner. In astrology, March is a month of change and transformation, marked by the entrance of the sun into Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. This shift in energy brings with it a sense of excitement and adventure, as we prepare to embark on a new journey.

January 2023

The beginning of the year was marked by a slow start due to Mars and Mercury being in retrograde. While it was undoubtedly difficult to get a strong start to the year with these cosmic challenges, it is worth considering the potential benefits of such a slow start. Perhaps it allowed for more time to reflect on goals and strategies, or to plan out a more thoughtful approach to the year ahead. Regardless, it wasn't until the final week of the month that things began to pick up speed and progress was made. However, it's important to remember that progress doesn't always come in a straight line and that sometimes a slow start can lead to a strong finish.

February 2023

Astrologically, this has been a relatively uneventful month, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty to explore in the cosmos. One of the most fascinating aspects of this month's journey through the lunar cycle and the Sun changing sign is the chance to reflect on how the celestial bodies influence our own lives. Even though there were no major planetary events to contend with, we were still able to connect with the February Full Moon in Leo and the Super New Moon in Pisces, two powerful and transformative moments that invite us to look inward and contemplate our own journey.

Astrologically speaking, March will be a busy month. When we experience many significant cosmic events in a single month, it can be challenging to adapt to the constant changes. However, it's important to approach the month with awareness instead of fear. When you know what's coming your way, you can always achieve great things. I've found that events are often less impactful than expected when I'm prepared for them.

Saturn Enters Pisces - Set Supportive Boundaries - 7th March

Saturn is the planet that governs structure, boundaries, limitations, and restrictions in our lives. In astrology, Saturn is often associated with karma, which is the idea that our past actions have a direct impact on our present and future experiences.

Pisces, on the other hand, is known for its dreamy and imaginative qualities. Pisces lack boundaries and form, the energies of Saturn in Pisces may clash.

During this time, it is important to focus on being disciplined with your spiritual practice, and to maintain and set boundaries that will help you keep your power. This may involve setting aside specific times for meditation or prayer, or taking steps to protect your emotional well-being by limiting your exposure to negative influences. Additionally, consider exploring ways to channel your creative energy in a more structured and disciplined way, such as through art classes or workshops.

Jupiter Conjunct Chiron - Opportunity for Healing - 11th March

Chiron, also known as the "wounded healer," is an asteroid associated with guilt, shame, vulnerability, and insecurity due to past experiences, particularly in early childhood. Jupiter, on the other hand, is the planet of expansion and positive growth. When these two celestial bodies are in conjunction, we are presented with a powerful opportunity for healing. This is a time to address old wounds and trauma while allowing yourself the space you need to grow and heal.

Sun enters Aries - New Beginnings - 20th March

When the Sun enters Aries on March 20th, it marks the start of a new astrological year. This is a time of new beginnings, and the energy of Aries encourages us to take bold steps forward and pursue our goals with passion and determination.

Aries is a fire sign, known for its boldness, confidence, and determination. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries represents new beginnings, and its energy is characterised by a pioneering spirit. Pluto Enters Aquarius - Generational Transformation - 23rd March

This month's astrological event is highly significant as the slowest moving planet, Pluto, changes sign and enters Aquarius, where it will remain until 2043. This is a long period, which will allow for a lot of changes in the societal structure and technological advancements. Pluto is associated with power, transformation, loss, and endings; therefore, its arrival in Aquarius is expected to bring about change through purging on a personal level. You may start noticing things falling away from your life as they no longer serve you, and this is completely normal as Pluto clears the path for new beginnings.

The impact of Pluto's arrival in Aquarius will not be immediate as it will take around 18 months for Pluto to fully settle in. Once it does, we will begin to see the effects of this change. In the meantime, we can expect to witness significant changes that will affect us all in different ways. The next two decades will be marked by new ways of thinking, new technologies, and new societal structures.

While change can be difficult, it is important to embrace it and view it as an opportunity for growth. The arrival of Pluto in Aquarius is not something to be feared, but rather something to be excited about. So, let us welcome this new era with open arms and look forward to all the possibilities that it will bring.
